Barbara Drummond for Representative
Barbara Drummond, born on August 5, 1956, is an American politician who has been serving in the Alabama House of Representatives from the 103rd district since 2014. She is a member of the Democratic Party.
Drummond graduated from Murphy High School and received her B.A. in communications from the University of South Alabama. Her professional journey is quite diverse and impressive. She worked as a reporter for the Mobile Register, covering many political, judicial, and general reporting assignments for 21 years. She also owned B-Inspired Marketing and Consulting Inc., and served as the executive director of administrative services and community affairs for the city of Mobile. In addition, she served as the public affairs director for Mobile County.
She has also served on the board of directors for United Way of Southwest Alabama and the Alabama Association of Constitutional Reform. Furthermore, she formerly served as president of the National Association of County Information Officers.
In terms of her political career, she assumed office on November 5, 2014. Her current term ends on November 4, 2026. She ran for re-election to the Alabama House of Representatives to represent District 103 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Throughout her tenure, Drummond has been assigned to various committees. For the years 2023-2024, she was assigned to the following committees: Children and Senior Advocacy Committee, House Education Policy Committee, Mobile County Legislation Committee, and Ways and Means Education Committee. She had similar assignments for the years 2021-2022 and 2019-2020. At the beginning of the 2015 legislative session, Drummond served on the Children and Senior Advocacy, Education Policy, Mobile County Legislation, and Transportation, Utilities and Infrastructure committees.
