Rosanna Gabaldón for Senator
Rosanna Gabaldón is an American politician who is currently serving as a member of the Arizona Senate from the 21st district. She assumed office on January 9, 2023. Prior to this, she served as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 14, 2013, to January 11, 2021, and as a member of the Arizona Senate from the 2nd district from January 11, 2021, to January 9, 2023.
Gabaldón was born in Bermuda and is of American nationality. She is a member of the Democratic Party and resides in Sahuarita, Arizona. Her professional background is in Community Development.
In terms of her education, Gabaldón attended Central High School. Her political career includes several successful election campaigns. In August 2016, she ran and was successful in a contested primary election. She and Daniel Hernández Jr. went on to win the general election. In 2014, Gabaldón won reelection over Republican John Ackerley. She came in first ahead of Ackerley and Democratic Demion Clinco in the general election.
Gabaldón also ran in an uncontested election in the August 26, 2014 Democratic primary. She ran and was successful in a contested general election and won one of two seats in the November 6, 2012 with above Republican nominee John Ackerly. Gabaldón ran in an uncontested primary election in the August 28, 2012 Democratic primary.
Before her tenure in the Arizona Senate and House of Representatives, Gabaldón was a dedicated public servant at the local level. She arrived in Sahuarita in 2004 and served on the Town’s Parks and Recreation Commission, and Economic Development Commission. She was elected to the Sahuarita Town Council in May 2009.
Gabaldón’s career experience includes working as a clerk for Pima County. She has served on the board of the Salvation Army of Green Valley, the Southeast Arizona Advisory Board of Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc., the board of The Friends of the Green Valley Library, and the board of the Southeast Arizona Citizens Forum Board.
