Howard Beaty for Representative
Howard Beaty is a member of the Republican Party and a representative of the Arkansas House of Representatives, representing District 95. He assumed office on January 9, 2023, and his current term ends on January 13, 2025. He is running for re-election to the Arkansas House of Representatives to represent District 95.
Beaty earned a degree in accountancy from Louisiana Tech University in 1991. He has been assigned to various committees during his tenure. In 2023-2024, he was assigned to the House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee and served as the Vice Chair of the House Revenue and Taxation Committee. In 2021-2022, he was assigned to the House City, County and Local Affairs Committee and the House Revenue and Taxation Committee.
Before his current position, Beaty held office in the Arkansas House of Representatives District 9. His predecessor was Austin McCollum and his successor was DeAnna Hodges. His base salary as a legislator is $44,356/year. For legislators residing within 50 miles of the capitol, they receive a per diem of $59/day. For legislators residing more than 50 miles from the capitol, they receive a per diem of $155/day.
In addition to his political career, Beaty has spent more than 25 years of his banking career assisting small businesses, families, and individuals with their financial needs. He is actively involved in his community and has dedicated numerous hours on economic development projects and community development and civic organizations. He is pro-life, pro-business, and a staunch defender of the Second Amendment.
In 2019, he was appointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson to serve on the Board of Directors of the Division of Science and Technology of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. He is the former Chairman of the Ashley County Republican Committee; member and former President of the Rotary Club of Crossett; former member and Chairman of the Ashley County Arkansas Board of Election Commissioners; former Chairman and board member of Ashley County Single Parent Scholarship Committee; President and board member of the Friends of the Crossett Public Library; and a Paul Harris Fellow of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
Howard serves as Chair of the Facilities Use Committee at the First Baptist Church of Crossett, where he is also a member of the Budget Committee. He is an Eagle Scout and a Tusk Club member of the Arkansas Republican Party.
