Rick Taggart for Representative
Rick Taggart is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves in the Colorado House of Representatives, representing District 55. He assumed office on January 9, 2023, and his current term ends on January 8, 2025.
Taggart ran for election to the Colorado House of Representatives to represent District 55 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His predecessor was Janice Rich.
Born and raised in the United States, Taggart has a strong educational background. He earned a B.S. in business and environmental science from Syracuse University in 1972 and later pursued an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.
In terms of his professional career, Taggart has a diverse range of experience. He has worked as an adjunct professor and the executive director of marketing and recruitment with Colorado Mesa University. He also served as the president/CEO of Victorinox Swiss Army.
Apart from his political and professional life, Taggart is also involved in various community services. He has been affiliated with the Grand Junction Economic Partnership, the Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation, and the Suicide Coalition of Western Colorado.

Taggart is a businessman and politician from Grand Junction, Colorado. His corporate experience includes senior positions in Marmot Mountain Works, The Timberland Company, and Swiss Army Brands. He has also worked at Colorado Mesa University in a management position and as a business teacher.
Taggart served from 2015 to 2022 on the Grand Junction City Council. He served as mayor from 2017-2019.
