Dean Black is a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 15. He is a member of the Republican Party and assumed office on November 8, 2022. His current term ends on November 5, 2024. He is running for re-election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 15 and has declared candidacy for the Republican primary scheduled on August 20, 2024.

Black was born on November 23, 1965, in Jacksonville, Florida, where he currently resides. He is a small business owner and a cattle rancher by profession. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Mississippi.

He is married to Kimberley A. “Kim” Black of Toledo, Ohio, and they have five children: Nathan, Savannah, Hunter, Alanna, and Silas. They also have two grandchildren, Miguel and Mateo.

In addition to his legislative service, Black has served as Chairman of the Republican Party of Duval County since 2018 and has been re-elected subsequently. He is also a proud Air Force Veteran and was a member of the 125th Fighter Wing, Florida Air National Guard on Jacksonville’s Northside.

During his tenure, Black has been assigned to several committees including the State Affairs Committee, Agriculture & Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee, Children, Families & Seniors Subcommittee, Civil Justice Subcommittee, Health Care Appropriations Subcommittee, and Healthcare Regulation Subcommittee.

Black’s career experience includes owning a business and working as a cattle rancher. His dedication to his work and his commitment to his constituents have made him a respected figure in his community and in the Florida House of Representatives.
