Lindsay Cross for Representative
Lindsay Cross is an American politician and environmental scientist currently serving as a member of the Florida House of Representatives for the 60th district. She assumed office on November 8, 2022.
Born on November 21, 1977, Lindsay Cross was raised in Lansing, Michigan. She later moved to Florida in 2001 and chose St. Petersburg as her home. She is affiliated with the Democratic Party.
In terms of education, Cross earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health from Colorado State University in 2000. She also holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida, which she earned in 2005.
Before her political career, Cross dedicated over two decades to restoring and protecting water quality and habitats in Tampa Bay and statewide. From 2002 to 2016, she worked for the Tampa Bay Estuary Program in various roles including technical assistant, environmental scientist, and environmental science and policy manager.
From 2016 to 2018, she served as the executive director of the Florida Wildlife Corridor. In 2019, she joined Florida Conservation Voters, working as a public lands advocate and government relations director.
Cross was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in November 2022. Her current term ends on November 5, 2024. She has declared her candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on August 20, 2024, for re-election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 60.
In addition to her political and environmental work, Cross is also a Methodist by religion. Her dedication to Florida, its residents, and its invaluable natural beauty is evident in her work and service.
