Thomas graduated from Dunwoody High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy and reached the rank of petty officer second class. After his military service, he pursued higher education and earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from Georgia Southern University.

In his professional life, Thomas has worked as an engineer with the U.S. Department of Energy and also owns a business. His career experience includes both public service and entrepreneurship.

Thomas is a member of the Republican Party. He assumed office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 21, on January 11, 2021. His current term ends on January 13, 2025. He ran for re-election to the Georgia House of Representatives to represent District 21 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

During his tenure, Thomas has been assigned to several committees. In the 2023-2024 term, he served as the Secretary of the Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee, and as the Vice Chair of the Committee on Technology and Infrastructure Innovation. He was also a member of the Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committee, Governmental Affairs Committee, Intragovernmental Coordination Committee, House Retirement Committee, and House Transportation Committee.
