Teddy Reese, a member of the Democratic Party, represents District 140 in the Georgia House of Representatives. He assumed office on January 9, 2023, and his current term is set to end on January 13, 2025.

Reese was born in Gordon, Georgia, and currently resides in Columbus, Georgia. He has a rich educational background. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Albany State University in 2003, followed by a master’s degree in public administration from Georgia College & State University in 2005. He then went on to earn a juris doctor from Florida A&M University in 2012.

Before his political career, Reese worked as the director of community operations and affairs of the Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice and as an attorney. He also served as the national chair of the American Bar Association Law Student Division and the president of the FAMU College of Law Student Bar Association.

In the 2022 elections, Reese ran for election to the Georgia House of Representatives to represent District 140. He won in the general election held on November 8, 2022. In the Democratic primary for the same, Reese defeated Zephaniah Dwayne Baker on May 24, 2022.

For the 2023-2024 term, Reese was assigned to the House Economic Development and Tourism Committee and the State Planning and Community Affairs Committee. His base salary as a representative is $23,341.72 per year, with a per diem of $247.
