Representative Ron Mendive Contact information

Ron Mendive is an American politician who has been serving as an Idaho State Representative since 2012. He is a member of the Republican Party and currently represents District 5 in the A seat.

Born in Elko, Nevada, Mendive moved to Idaho in 1955. He graduated from Kellogg High School and later attended North Idaho College. Before entering politics, Mendive worked in various fields including mining, logging, and building custom homes. He also developed the first successful self-igniting pellet stove as a principal in a corporation.

Mendive began his political career in District 3A of the Idaho House of Representatives, where he served from 2012 to 2022. In 2022, he assumed office in District 5A. His current term ends on December 1, 2024.

Over the years, Mendive has been assigned to several committees in the Idaho House of Representatives. These include the Education Committee, the Environment, Energy, and Technology Committee, and the Resources and Conservation Committee. He has also served as the Chair of the Resources and Conservation Committee and the Local Government Committee.

In terms of elections, Mendive has had a successful run. In the 2012 Primary, he won by a narrow margin of 50.1% against Jeff Tyler. In the 2012 General, he secured a victory with 67.9% of the votes against David Larsen. His winning streak continued in the subsequent years, with victories in the 2014 Primary and General, and the 2016 Primary and General.

Mendive is married to Sherlene and they have three grown children and six grandchildren. He is semi-retired and runs a seasonal land service & construction business.
