Adam M. Niemerg is a Republican member of the Illinois House from the 102nd district. He was sworn in on January 13, 2021. The 102nd district, located in the Illinois Wabash Valley, includes all or portions of Clay, Edwards, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash Wayne, and White Counties.

Adam Niemerg was born on March 17, 1984, in Teutopolis, Illinois, to his parents Phil and Stephanie. He was the oldest of five children. Niemerg graduated from Teutopolis High School in 2002. He attended Lake Land College and Eastern Illinois University and earned his Bachelor of Arts in history. After graduating, he worked as a senior claims adjuster for Country Financial for 12 years.

As of July 3, 2022, Representative Niemerg is a member of the following Illinois House committees: Appropriations-General Service; Consumer Protection; Elem Sec Ed: School Curric Policies; Insurance; Labor & Commerce; Restorative Justice; Business & Industry Innovation; Wage Policy Study.

Adam Niemerg is a Teutopolis native and resides in rural Dieterich in Effingham County with his wife, Trina, and two small children. They are members of the St. Isidore Catholic Parish and they attend St. Aloysius church. In addition to his church support, Adam has been active in community theatre. Adam is a fiscal conservative focused on reducing taxes and fighting for limited government and pension reform to spur the growth of business and jobs in his district and all of Illinois. Adam Niemerg is pro-life and he will protect Second Amendment rights.

In the 2020 election, Niemerg won the Illinois 102nd State House District Republican Primary. He filed to run for the Republican nomination for the 2024 election, but his petitions were challenged for a failure to notarize his statement of candidacy.
