State Sen. Eric Koch has served Senate District 44 since 2016. The district includes Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, and Orange counties and a portion of Monroe County. Before his election to the Indiana State Senate, Koch served District 65 in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2002-2016.

State Sen. Eric Koch has served Senate District 44 since 2016. The district includes Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, and Orange counties and a portion of Monroe County. Before his election to the Indiana State Senate, Koch served District 65 in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2002-2016.

Koch serves as chairman of the Senate Committee on Utilities and as the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and the Senate Committee on Commerce and Technology. He also serves as a member of the Senate Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law. Koch serves on the Indiana Supreme Court’s Commercial Courts Committee, Indiana Public Defender Commission, and Indiana Probate Code Study Commission.

Professionally, Koch is an attorney with The Koch Law Firm P.C. He represents Indiana as a commissioner on the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. Koch also serves as co-chair of the National Conference of State Legislatures Energy Supply Task Force and as a member of the Indiana Geological and Water Survey Advisory Council, National Council on Electricity Policy’s Executive Committee, the Council of State Governments’ Midwestern Radioactive Materials Transportation Committee, and on the Boards of Directors of Mid-Southern Savings Bank, FSB, and its holding company, Mid-Southern Bancorp, Inc.

From 2018-2022, he served as a member of the Consumer Advisory Committee at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

He was named a Sagamore of the Wabash by Gov. Mike Pence and a Kentucky Colonel by Gov. Ernie Fletcher.

Koch and his wife, Connie, have three adult sons and live in Bedford.
