About Senator Jim Buck - Republican Representative of Indiana
State Sen. Jim Buck has been serving Senate District 21, which includes Tipton County and portions of Hamilton and Howard counties, since 2008. Prior to his service in the Senate, Buck served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 1994 to 2008.
In the Senate, Buck holds the position of chair for the Senate Committee on Local Government. Additionally, he is a member of several other Senate Committees, including Environmental Affairs, Homeland Security and Transportation, Judiciary, Rules and Legislative Procedure, and Veterans Affairs and The Military. He also boasts the distinction of being the former national chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council.
Buck is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, holding both a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Business Administration. Before entering the political arena, he enjoyed a career as a tool and die mold maker.
Beyond his legislative duties, Buck is an active member of the community. He serves on the Indiana University Kokomo Advisory Board, is a member of the Rotary Club and Mason Lodge No. 93, and holds the position of vice president on the We Care Board. Additionally, he is a retired real estate broker.
Residing in Kokomo with his wife, Judy, Buck is the proud parent of five daughters.
