Ann Meyer for Representative
Ann Meyer, born in 1965 in Redford, Michigan, is an American politician and nurse currently serving as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from the 8th district. She was elected in November 2018 and assumed office on January 14, 2019.
Meyer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy. Outside of politics, she works as a nurse and has also been a nursing instructor at Iowa Central Community College. She has served on health care advisory boards and the Iowa Central Community College Simulation Center Advisory Board.
Before her current term, she served in the 9th District from 2019 to 2023. She succeeded Helen Miller in this role. As of 2023, she is serving in the 8th District, having succeeded Terry Baxter.
In addition to her legislative duties, Meyer also serves as chair of the House Human Resources Committee. Her work in the Iowa House of Representatives is part of her first term in the House. She is a member of the Republican party and her home county is Webster.
Meyer resides in Fort Dodge with her husband, Jim, and their son. Her career experience includes working as a nurse and serving on health care advisory boards. She is also a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
