Carrie Barth is a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 5. She is a member of the Republican Party. Barth assumed office on January 9, 2023, and her current term ends on January 13, 2025.

Barth ran for election to the Kansas House of Representatives to represent District 5 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. Prior to her political career, Barth graduated from Wellsville High School in 1992 and earned a B.S. in apparel and textile marketing management from Kansas State University in 1996.

In addition to her political career, Barth has a diverse professional background. She has worked as a benefits consultant with Gallagher, served as the vice president of business development with CareATC, and was a sales director with The Zero Card. Barth also served on the board of directors of the Baldwin Education Foundation.

During her tenure, Barth has been assigned to several committees including the Health and Human Services Committee, House Local Government Committee, and Social Services Budget Committee.

In the 2022 elections, Barth defeated incumbent Mark Samsel in the Republican primary for Kansas House of Representatives District 5. Barth won the election with 63.5% of the votes, while Mark Samsel received 36.5% of the votes.

Barth is a corporate benefits consultant from Baldwin City and represents the southwest corner of Johnson County along with parts of Miami, Franklin, and Douglas counties. This is Barth’s first term.
