Dan Goddard for Representative
Dan Goddard, born on November 3, 1947, is an American politician who is currently serving as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 7. He assumed office on January 9, 2023, and his current term ends on January 13, 2025.
Before his tenure in the House of Representatives, Goddard served in the Kansas Senate for the 15th district from 2017 to 2021. He ran for election to the Kansas House of Representatives to represent District 7 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
During his time in office, Goddard has been assigned to several committees. In the 2023-2024 term, he was assigned to the House Judiciary Committee, House Transportation Committee, and Veterans and Military Committee. In the 2019-2020 term, he served on the Kansas Security Committee as Vice Chair, Senate Transportation Committee as Vice Chair, Ways and Means Committee, and Assessment and Taxation Committee.
Goddard has also sponsored several bills during his tenure. Some of these include HB2313, which created the born-alive infants protection act to provide legal protections for infants who are born alive regardless of the intent of the delivery, and HB2508, which authorized a transfer of state general fund moneys to the local ad valorem tax reduction fund in fiscal year 2025 and all fiscal years thereafter.
