Danny Bentley for Representative
Danny Bentley Laferty is an American politician who has been serving as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives since January 2017. He represents Kentucky’s 98th House district.
Born in Russell, Kentucky, he earned a bachelor of science and a doctor of pharmacy from the University of Kentucky. His career experience includes working as a pharmacist and an educator with Ohio University. He is a Baptist and a Type 2 diabetic.
Electoral History:

- He was reelected in the 2018 Kentucky House of Representatives election.

Controversy: During a debate on the abortion pill RU-486, Bentley made some controversial statements. He stated that the drug was developed from the deadly chemical agent Zyklon B, and that the abortion pill was “invented by a Jew”. He then went on a tangent about Jewish women’s sexual habits. These comments were condemned by multiple Jewish groups. Bentley later apologized for his statements, and stated that he stood with the Jewish community against hatred.
Retirement: On November 22, 2023, he announced that he would retire from the house and not seek reelection in 2024.
