Tony Bacala, whose full name is Anthony Joseph Bacala Jr., is a prominent figure in Louisiana politics. He was born in July 1957 and is a member of the Republican Party. He is currently serving as the State Representative for District 59, Ascension Parish, a position he assumed in January 2016.

Tony Bacala, whose full name is Anthony Joseph Bacala Jr., is a prominent figure in Louisiana politics. He was born in July 1957 and is a member of the Republican Party. He is currently serving as the State Representative for District 59, Ascension Parish, a position he assumed in January 2016.

Before his political career, Tony Bacala served in the United States Army from 1975 to 1978. After his military service, he joined the New York City Police Department in 1979. He later moved to Louisiana and became a law enforcement officer. He also served as a chief deputy with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Bacala is married to Lisa Faucheux, who is also a Republican and is employed by the Ascension Parish School Board. They reside in Prairieville, Ascension Parish, Louisiana, USA.

Bacala is an alumnus of East Ascension High School and Louisiana State University, from where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1982. He also attended the FBI National Academy in 2004.

During his tenure in the Louisiana House of Representatives, Bacala has been known for his conservative stance on various issues. He has been assigned to several committees including the Administration of Criminal Justice Committee, Appropriations Committee, House Retirement Committee, Joint Legislative Budget Committee, and Medicaid Oversight Committee.

In the most recent election, Bacala won re-election to the Louisiana House of Representatives to represent District 59 outright in the primary on October 14, 2023. His current term ends on January 10, 2028.
