Representative James Thorne - Contact Information

James Thorne was born in Portland, Maine, and currently lives in Carmel, Maine. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1983 to 2003, and then worked as an advertising sales manager, a relocation consultant, and a registered Maine Guide. He is affiliated with various organizations, such as the American Legion, the NRA, the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine, and the Bangor Troop Greeters.

Thorne was first elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 2020, representing District 103. He was re-elected in 2022, representing District 35, after the redistricting process. He serves on the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee and the Marine Resources Committee, where he is the ranking member. He has sponsored or co-sponsored several bills related to wildlife, fisheries, veterans, and public safety. He is married to Suzanne and has two children and four grandchildren.
