Rebecca Millett is a member of the Democratic Party serving her second term in the Maine House of Representatives, representing District 123. Prior to her tenure in the House, she served eight years in the Maine Senate. She is a member of both the budget-writing Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee and the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee.

Millett’s educational background includes bachelor’s degrees in international relations and business administration from American University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Her career has been diverse, including serving in the Peace Corps, working in finance in New York, and engaging in various roles that support education and community services.

Upon returning to her home state of Maine in 2000, Millett became actively involved in local education, co-founding a citizens’ advocacy group and serving on the Cape Elizabeth School Board from 2004 to 2010. She is also the founder and co-chair of the Legislature’s Children’s Caucus, serves on the New England Board of Higher Education, co-chairing its Legislative Advisory Committee, and is a member of the Children’s Cabinet Early Childhood Advisory Committee.

Millett resides in Cape Elizabeth with her husband, where they raised their son and daughter. She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, backpacking, and skiing with her family, and she studies piano.
