Sean Stinnett is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves in the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 41. He assumed office on March 3, 2025, and his current term will conclude on January 13, 2027.

Sean A. Stinnett, born in October 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland, is an American politician and community development professional. He was appointed to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2025 by Governor Wes Moore to fill the vacancy left by Delegate Dalya Attar. District 41 covers parts of Baltimore City, and Stinnett serves alongside Delegates Malcolm Ruff and Samuel I. Rosenberg. His appointment reflects his longstanding involvement in Baltimore’s civic and economic development initiatives, as well as his commitment to public service.

Stinnett graduated from the Baltimore School for the Arts in 1989 before attending Baltimore City Community College, where he earned an associate degree in communications. He later completed a bachelor’s degree in sports management at Coppin State University and pursued further studies at Pennsylvania Western University, California. His educational background combined communications, management, and leadership training, preparing him for a career in both public administration and community engagement.

Before joining the General Assembly, Stinnett held several leadership roles in Baltimore City government. He served as Director of Operations in the Office of the Mayor from 2021 to 2023, Deputy Director of the Mayor’s Office of Minority and Women-Owned Business from 2020 to 2023, and Director of Baltimore Main Streets during the same period. These positions allowed him to focus on economic development, small business support, and neighborhood revitalization. His work emphasized strengthening local communities and expanding opportunities for minority-owned enterprises.

In the Maryland House of Delegates, Stinnett is a member of the Judiciary Committee, where he participates in the Criminal Law and Procedure Subcommittee and the Family and Juvenile Law Subcommittee.
