State Representative Jennifer Conlin is currently in her first term, representing House District 48, which encompasses the northernmost precincts in the city of Ann Arbor, along with the townships of Ann Arbor, Dexter, Genoa, Hamburg, Northfield, Waterloo, Webster, Lyndon, and Putnam, and the village of Pinckney.

A dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and caregiver, Rep. Conlin is a native of Washtenaw County. Her family has a longstanding commitment to public service, with members serving in various capacities in city, county, and state governments, including the judicial bench to this day. With a career spanning decades as a journalist, she has had the privilege of meeting people from around the world and sharing their stories. Over the past 12 years, she focused on covering Michigan news, delving into topics such as small businesses, tourism, healthcare, arts and culture, and economic development. Rep. Understanding the real-life challenges faced by her constituents, Rep. Conlin and her husband made the significant decision to return to Ann Arbor to be closer to family, including her aging parents. They have since lived in a multigenerational home, allowing her to witness firsthand the struggles of her children with student loans, her mother’s concerns about rising prescription drug costs, and her own experiences as an independent contractor navigating the challenges of running a small business.

In her role as a state representative, her legislative priorities include enhancing infrastructure, safeguarding Michigan’s natural resources, improving access and affordability of healthcare, bolstering school safety, attracting and retaining qualified teachers, and fortifying the state’s economy.
