Senator Christopher Pope Contact information

Christopher Pope is a member of the Democratic Party and represents District 31 in the Montana State Senate. He assumed office on January 4, 2021, and his current term ends on January 6, 2025. Pope ran for election to the Montana State Senate to represent District 31 and won in the general election on November 3, 2020.

Before his tenure in the Senate, Pope served as a Montana House District 65 member from 2015 to 2017 and again from 2019 to 2021. He lives in Bozeman, Montana. Pope earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish literature from the University of Oregon in 1975 and a master’s degree in public and private management from Yale University School of Management in 1988.

His career experience includes working as a reporter for the Brunswick Times Record in Maine, as a manager for Solarex Corporation in Maryland, in the family retail business, and as a commercial realtor. Pope has also served as the treasurer of the Montana Conservation Corps.
