Representative Tom Welch Contact information

Tom Welch is a member of the Republican Party and serves in the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 72. He assumed office in 2017 and his current term is set to end on January 6, 2025. Welch ran for re-election to the Montana House of Representatives to represent District 72 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

During his tenure, Welch has been assigned to various committees. For the years 2023-2024, he served on the Human Services Committee and was the Vice Chair of the House Taxation Committee. He held the same positions in 2021-2022. In 2019-2020, he was a member of the Human Services Committee and the House Taxation Committee. At the beginning of his term in the 2017 legislative session, he served on the Fish, Wildlife and Parks Committee, the Human Services Committee, and the Taxation Committee.

Some of these include bills to clarify the use of certain refrigerants, revise video gambling machine taxes to allow a deduction for negative income, revise laws related to pharmacy benefit managers, repeal gray water property abatement, revise fees for special mobile equipment, revise income tax rates for net-long term capital gains, provide rebates of property taxes paid on a principal residence, and remove the requirement for notaries for vehicle transfers.
