Born on December 21, 1965, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Hardin comes from a fourth-generation Scotts Bluff County farm family where he learned the value of skinned knuckles and long days. He graduated from Gering High School in 1984. He then earned a bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College in 1988 and a master’s degree from Denver Seminary in 1992. A consistent theme throughout his life is leadership.

His career experience includes working as a business consultant, farmer/rancher, pastor, and insurance broker. He is also a member of the Republican Party. He is married to Lili Hardin and they have two children: Allegra and Jackson.

In the electoral history, Hardin ran for election to the Nebraska State Senate to represent District 48. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
