Senator Mike Moser - Contact Information

Mike Moser is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He was born on September 18, 1951, in Fremont, Nebraska. He is married to Jan Waak and they have three children: Maria, Anne, and Michelle.

In terms of education, Moser graduated from Scotus Central Catholic High School in Columbus, Nebraska, in 1969. He earned his associate degree at Central Community College in 1971 and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree.

Moser has had a diverse career. He was the owner and manager of the Columbus Music Company. He also served as the mayor of Columbus from 2004 to 2016. In addition, he was a community education computer instructor at Central Community College.

In 2010, Moser tried to run for state senator in Nebraska’s 22nd district. He won the primary but lost the general election to Paul Schumacher. Eight years later, Moser ran for the Nebraska Legislature from the same district as his predecessor was unable to run again due to term limits. He easily won that election with 64.3% of the votes against Doug Oertwich. He was sworn in as senator on January 9, 2019.

Moser ran for re-election to the Nebraska State Senate to represent District 22 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His current term ends on January 6, 2027.

Throughout his career, Moser has been recognized for his contributions. He was named the 1994 outstanding alumnus of Central Community College and the 2004 alumnus of the year of Columbus Scotus Central Catholic High School.
