Bill Bolton for Representative
Bill Bolton is a dedicated and experienced public servant who currently serves as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Grafton District 8. He assumed office on December 7, 2022, and his current term ends on December 4, 2024.
Bolton and his wife, Denise, are long-time residents of Plymouth, New Hampshire, where they raised their four children in the house they built 22 years ago. Bolton’s commitment to his community is evident in his extensive local government involvement. Elected in 2013, he currently serves on Plymouth’s Selectboard, and has also served on Plymouth’s Planning Board, Conservation Commission, Energy Commission as well as the Boards of several nonprofit organizations. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Lakes Region Planning Commission.
In addition to his local government service, Bolton has had a diverse and impactful career. He retired from state government after a 30-year career that included roles such as the Assistant Director of the Public Health Laboratories, the Chief of the staff that supported the state’s Health Services Planning and Review Board, and the State Registrar and Director, Division of Vital Records Administration under the Secretary of State. After retirement, he became an at-home software implementation manager, working with all 57 states and territories to install a national software suite that collected and reported Vital Records data. In 2021, he was appointed Executive Director of Transport Central, a small transportation company that transports elderly and disabled persons at no cost to non-emergency medical appointments, utilizing only volunteer drivers.
As a legislator, Bolton is a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means. The committee is responsible for examining and considering the state of the treasury, considering and reporting on all bills and resolutions relating to raising money by a state tax and the apportionment of same, matters relating to taxes and fees on tobacco, all dedicated funds except for the highway and turnpike funds, state fees, and all methods of raising revenue for the state, and such other matters as may be referred to it.
