Fred Plett for Representative
Fred Plett is a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Hillsborough 29. He assumed office on December 7, 2022, and his current term ends on December 4, 2024. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Born and raised in Goffstown, New Hampshire, Plett has a strong educational background. He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering in 1969 and an M.S. in electrical engineering in 1972, both from Northeastern University. He also earned an M.B.A. from Babson College in 1975.
Plett’s career experience is extensive and varied. He worked in the utility industry as an officer and assistant to the president of PSNH (now Eversource Energy), and also for AlliedSignal, EPRI, Logica, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General Office of Ratepayer Advocacy. He became an IEEE senior member, a NEPOOL end user vice chair, a member of the NPCC Board of Directors, a NERC MRC and Standards Committee vice chair, and a district governor of New Hampshire District 44N Lions.
In his political career, Plett has served 2 terms on the Science, Technology and Energy Committee of the NH Legislature, the second term as Clerk of that committee. He has also been assigned to the House Ways and Means Committee as a Clerk.
Plett ran for re-election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Hillsborough 29 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
In addition to his professional and political achievements, Plett has been involved in local government. He served on the Hillsborough County Master Plan Committee in 2007 and has been a HC Delegate since 2018, serving as Building Committee Chair. He was also a member of the Goffstown Charter Commission in 2004 and has served as Chair of the Solid Waste Commission since 2005.
