Senator Karen M Román Rodríguez - Contact Information

Karen Román is a prominent public figure born and raised in Aguadilla, the daughter of public servants who instilled in her from an early age the value of work, a vocation for service, and a commitment to her people. As a product of the public school system, Román is honored to have received her education in local schools, where she began to forge her passion for education and the community. She continued her academic training at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, San Germán Campus, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts Education. Subsequently, she completed a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Teaching in Drawing, along with additional studies in Special Education. Her career in public service has been exemplary, with more than 20 years of experience as an educator in the Puerto Rico Department of Education, during which she has impacted lives and contributed to the growth of future generations. Román’s commitment to the well-being of her community goes beyond the classroom. As a community leader and active member of the PNP’s Progressive Women of Aguadilla organization, she has worked closely with various social initiatives. She currently presides over the Pan de Vida Community Center Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing support to vulnerable communities in the western region of Puerto Rico, providing food, clothing, and personal hygiene products to those most in need. Additionally, she is part of the board of the Casa Impacto de Amor Foundation, where they fight for the rights of inmates and women victims of violence. Her leadership has also extended to the spiritual and social spheres. For more than 14 years, she has served as a pastor, guiding many people on their path of faith. She was also the Regional Director of Decretos, Inc., promoting the 40 Days of Fasting and Prayer in all municipalities of Puerto Rico. Her tireless fight for justice and equity led her to join as an active member of the Extended Congressional Delegation in Washington D.C., where she works for statehood for Puerto Rico. Today, Román has the honor of serving as Senator for District #4 Mayagüez-Aguadilla, with the firm mission of being an agent of change for her region. She is the Chairwoman of the Joint Commission on Special Reports of the Comptroller. Her goal is to rescue values, principles, and the family, working for the well-being of the people with concrete proposals that contribute to the transformation of society.
