Senator Yashira Lebrón Rodríguez - Contact Information

Yashira M. Lebron Rodríguez was born on July 24, 1981 in the city of Bayamón. He began his educational career in the public educational system of Puerto Rico, studying at the Diego de Torres Vargas and Jesús Sánchez Erazo schools. He graduated from the fourth year of the Agustín Sthal high school, in his native ‘City of Chicharrón’.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences Arts, with a concentration in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the Inter-American University, Metropolitan Campus.

His passion is serving, so his professional career is focused on that facet. She has served as Director of the Government Commission of the Senate of Puerto Rico. She was also the Assistant Undersecretary of the Municipal Legislature of Guaynabo. Her work and attention to detail catapulted her to become Vice President of the Bayamón Municipal Legislature.

Lebron Rodríguez was sworn in on October 23, 2014 as representative for District 8 of Bayamón, becoming the first woman to hold that position. He revalidates his seat in the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico during the 2016 and 2020 general elections.

Among the approved laws of his authorship is Law No. 129 of August 16, 2020, better known as the ‘New Puerto Rico Condominium Law’, Law 8-2018 ‘Access Control Law of 1987’, Law 116-2017 to empower the Secretary of the Department of Consumer Affairs to create a conflict mediation program and Law 9-2018 to prohibit any business that calculates the tip to be voluntarily given by a client based on the total price of the transaction including Sales and Use Tax, among others.

On November 5, 2024, she was elected Representative for District Number 8. In January 2025, she was selected by her colleagues as Vice President of the House of Representatives.
