Amy Sheldon was born and raised in Middlebury, Addison County, Vermont. She pursued her higher education at Middlebury College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Her passion for environmental issues led her to further her studies at the University of Vermont, where she obtained a Master of Science degree in Natural Resource Planning.

Amy Sheldon has dedicated her professional life to environmental conservation and natural resource planning. She is a consulting Natural Resource Planner at Landslide Natural Resource Planning, Inc., where she works on various projects aimed at sustainable development and environmental protection. Additionally, Amy is a Senior Faculty member at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in Lander, Wyoming, where she imparts her knowledge and experience to the next generation of environmental leaders.

Amy’s commitment to her community is evident through her extensive involvement in local organizations. She has served on the Middlebury Conservation Commission, where she played a crucial role in preserving the natural beauty and ecological integrity of the area. Amy also spent ten years on the Middlebury Planning Commission, contributing to the town’s development and land use planning. Her dedication to environmental issues extended to her role on the District 9 Environmental Board for Act 250 and the Board of the Middlebury Area Land Trust.

In 2014, Amy Sheldon was elected to the Vermont House of Representatives, representing the Addison-1 district. Amy has served on several key committees, including the Fish, Wildlife and Water Committee, the Agriculture and Forestry Committee, and the Commerce and Economic Development Committee.
