He and his late wife Mary have four children (two daughters and two sons) and eight grandchildren. Elected as Justice of the Peace 22 years. Past Town Moderator. Served in the U.S. Navy for four years (Vietnam Era). Member of American Legion Post 49 for 48 years, Knights of Columbus Council 810 for 32 years, Fraternal Order of the Eagles AERIE 3907 for 24 years, Castleton Lions Club, Lodge #75 Free and Accepted Masons of Fair Haven. Appointed to Joint Energy Committee (2009, 2010) Appointed to Governor’s Veterans Advisory Council (2007- present), House Natural Resources and Energy Committee (2005-2014), House Ways and Means Committee (2015-present) as the Ranking Member (2017-2018 and 2021-2023) and as Vice-Chair (2019-2020, 2023-present).
