Chittenden’s deep-rooted Vermont family lineage traces back nine generations to Bethuel Chittenden, the brother of Vermont’s first governor, Thomas Chittenden. Chittenden pursued higher education at the University of Vermont, where he earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA). His academic journey at UVM was marked by excellence, and he was twice elected by the faculty to serve as the Faculty Senate President. His leadership extended beyond the university as he served as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Green Mountain Transit Authority from 2015 to 2020.
