T. Travis Hackworth is a Republican representing District 5 in the Virginia State Senate. Born in Richlands, Virginia, on June 5, 1975, he received his education at Richlands Christian Academy and Southwest Virginia Community College. An entrepreneur by profession, Hackworth is deeply rooted in his community.

He is married to Angela Rebecca Hackworth and follows the Pentecostal faith. Beyond his legislative duties, Hackworth actively contributes to various boards and commissions. He serves on the Advisory Board of the National Bank and holds a position on the Executive Board of Clinch Valley Medical Center Hospital.

Senator Hackworth’s district encompasses all of Bland County, Giles County, Pulaski County, Smyth County, Tazewell County, and Radford City. Additionally, parts of Montgomery County and Wythe County fall within his jurisdiction.
