Eric Nelson for Senator
Eric Nelson Jr. (R - Kanawha, 17) is a West Virginia State Senator representing the 17th district, which includes the majority of Kanawha County and the capital city, Charleston. Born on December 4 in Charleston, West Virginia, he hails from a family with a strong political legacy. His parents are former Delegate Eric Nelson Sr. and the late Ann Cabell Patrick Nelson.
Senator Nelson’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Washington and Lee University. Additionally, he has expertise in financial consulting and management, having completed the Venture Capital Institute program.
Beyond his legislative duties, Senator Nelson is actively involved in various affiliations and organizations. These include being a director at WesBanco Bank Inc., serving on the boards of the Clay Center and Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, and being a member of the World Presidents Organization. He is also associated with the Independent Oil and Gas Association, Charleston Rotary, Kanawha Lodge #20, Scottish Rite, WV Farm Bureau, and Leadership West Virginia.
Senator Nelson’s public service extends beyond politics. He has coached John Adams Middle School Golf and First Presbyterian High School Girls Basketball.
